ABOUT LISA
Let me introduce myself! My name is Lisa Hoffman and literally, from the moment I was born I was surrounded by and taught to love animals. My parents became guardians to brother and sister Great Dane puppies shortly before I was born and they became my love and passion for thirteen years! Throughout my fifty five years I’ve had the absolute honour of raising and training horses and many breeds of dog including Great Danes, Schnauzers, Cocker Spaniels, rescues and in my recent years, German Shorthaired Pointers. Over the years, my desire to learn about training techniques and how to nurture my bond with my dogs morphed and changed as my experience grew! Then in 2010 I met Norma Jeanne Laurette and shortly after, her partner Greg Ceci. It was then that I tossed out my old toolbox and began rebuilding it. I now understand that the techniques I choose need to nurture a relationship built on trust, mutual respect, positivity, confidence, effective communication and so much more. In 2012 I began mentoring with Norma Jeanne and Greg at Puppy Power & Applied Canine Therapy & Training, taking advantage of as many classes and lectures as possible. In 2018 I enrolled in Norma Jeanne’s Canine Correspondence Studies Certification Career Course in order to upgrade my skills and become a professional, certified dog trainer. I successfully completed the CCS course with highest honors' and earned my designation and certification. In order to give you and your dog the best care possible, I've also become a Certified Canine CPR and First Aid Instructor. Let me know how I can help you to work with your dog, change unwanted behaviors and build your human/canine bond! Testimonial
I’ve known Lisa for over 10 years. From our first meeting it was obvious that her dogs came first and I always respected her for that! She made it her mission to learn as much as possible in order to be the best dog Mom ever, which led to her mentoring with Greg and I and eventually completing the Canine Correspondence Studies Professional Dog Training & Behaviour Therapy Career Course and earning her certification. She has successfully completed the course and logged over 550 hours of practical hands-on experience.
Lisa understands the importance of using only 100% scientifically proven and positive techniques in order to speed up the learning process and changing unwanted behaviours while putting your dog’s experience and happiness first.
When you hire a professional to help you train your dog or change unwanted behaviours you want someone who understands how much you love your dog and that although you want change, you also want your dog’s temperament and emotional wellbeing protected, because those who truly love their dogs do not want to scare or hurt them.
When you have the privilege of working with Lisa you will know that like her own dogs, you and your dogs will be her top priority, she will love your dog as much as you do, and you’ll get results!
There are very few people whom I trust with my own dogs and Lisa is one of them.
